An early autumn morning on a pool in the Isinglass River. Three time a year, in the summer, the Mt Washington Auto Road is opened for a sunrise drive. I can't think of many better ways to greet a new day than from the summit of the tallest peak in the eastern U.S. This however was taken on the hair-pin turn just above the six mile mark. The extremely thick fog at the summit on this day would have made witnessing sunrise impossible.

Weathered and rotting, the gnarled roots and stumps of trees long ago cut down line the shore while an aging sailboat lists to one side having run aground. The bare rigging on the two masts gently sway in the breeze. The sky above is filled with an overcast of blue-grey clouds.
A small little known waterfall on the Mad River in Farmington, NH. shot from the opposite bank, just below the tail of the pool below the falls, three distinct plumes of water cascade over the granite ledge. Long white streaks in the water created by the surface bubbles and the long exposure lead the eye upstream, around the edge of the pool to the base of the waterfall.

Found deep in the woods, the remains of an old horse drawn manure spreader sits among the trees growing up around, over, and through it. The large, spoked steel rear wheels, frame, spreading auger, and the front wheels, as well as what is left of the wood siding and floor, is slowly being reclaimed by the forest.
